Why Markins Q-Ball?

Markins Q-ball Q10 is our best balanced ballhead between its performance and weight. It is very compact and light, but it is strong enough to support a large SLR camera with long and fast telephoto lens. It is an ideal choice for active outdoor photographers.

Unmatched High Performance: Super-strong and smooth bi-axial progressive locking mechanism is free of lock-up problem and easy to control. And, its superior mechanism provides even pressure in all directions.
Compact and Light: Amazing 100 lbs load capability while weighing only 1.1 lbs. This translates to an incredible 92 load/weight ratio, best in its class.
Fluid style main tension knob (patent pending) for smooth and easy operation

Fits all standard monopods and tripods with a 3/8" bolt (monopods/tripods with a 1/4" bolt require an adapter bushing which is not provided)

Lever Release Quickshoe for Dovetail Plates (Patented & Patent Pending):

Markins Lever Release Quickshoe is a major breakthrough for professional photographers. It combines the best of both worlds, efficiency of lever release and compatibility of screw release. It is lightening quick and easy to fully open and close the quickshoe, while it has the flexibility to be adjusted for plates that are slightly larger than Markins standard.

Easy Opening and Closing: The quickshoe opens/closes fully in one quick lever action even with hand with glove on.
Adjustable Clamping Distance (Patented): The clamping distance is user-adjustable by turning the adjustment screw for plates larger than Markins standard such as Kirk or RRS.
Note: We recommend the lever style release only if one has plates from single maker. It is known that different brands have different sizes of Arca-Swiss style plates. Though Markins' lever release quickshoe is adaptable to accommodate different brands of plates, it won't be practical to do so in the field with mixed brands of plates. We strongly recommend to use a single brand of plates with this lever release quickshoe. With mixed brands of plates, the traditional screw-knob style quickshoe will be more flexible.
Convertible Lever Arm Position (Patented): The lever arm is convertible to either left or right hand position for one's own convenience.
Protected Lever Cam Mechanism (Patented): The lever cam mechanism is embedded inside of the quickshoe, which vastly reduces the chance that the lever mechanism could be damaged by accidental impact.
Compact Design: The lever arm stays compact either opened or closed position.
Laser engraved position marks.
Quickshoe is secured on the ball with "Loctite" for safety and performance.
Built-in spirit level for leveling.
Spring loaded detent pin to protect plates from accidental sliding.
Safety stop relief for plates with stopper screws.
Enclosed moving mechanism to keep the dust out.
